Thirty

Today is my birthday.

Silly faces in Photo Booth.

Love them.

Second twenty-ninth birthday?

Eh. I'll pass, y'all.

I'd rather own my thirty years.

At thirty years old - I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life. I am the happiest I've ever been in my life. We've realized a dream by purchasing our own farm. We have two beautiful children who light up my days. After housework - I get to spend my days playing with our children, knitting, sewing, swinging on the porch swing, and chasing chickens off our (gated!) back deck. Evil chickens who want to leave their poop right where I want to walk.

I'm blessed beyond words. I wouldn't re-live the first part of my twenties for anything on this planet. The second half brought good things though: meeting my husband, the return of my health, marrying the man of my dreams, motherhood, the purchase of our farm...The second half definitely trumps the first.

I'm still plugging away at my sweater for Miss Evie Rose. It's coming along great! I really adore this pattern. Not too hard, but enough interest to keep me knitting.

  4. It wasn't until I was 30 that I finally felt like a legitimate adult. Of course, that is not to say that I have ever felt "grown up"...I'm old enough to be your mom, but I've always been rather a late bloomer with everything, so I'm not really aware of age unless I happen to look in the mirror! Happy birthday, Cassidy--the 30's (and the 40's) are good decades.

    1. Haha - I do not feel "grown up" at all, but definitely an adult now. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! Age isn't something I pay much attention to myself. I'm looking forward to my thirties :)

  7. Happy Birthday, my kindred spirit. Even though we may be miles apart, you are forever close to my heart. I have been so very blessed to a part of your life these four past years - to watch all the wonderful things, and hopefully console a little during the not so wonderful. You are a treasure and I know that your next thirty will be just as beautifully blessed. You know I love you so have those babies cover you in hugs and kisses... we'll talk soon.

  8. Happy Belated Birthday! It's nice to see people who are happy to turn 30. Though, can't be hard when you've got so many great things it in. I hope the next thirty are the best yet!
